Sharon Ann Molen Hymas, 76, of Idaho Falls, died July 28, 2008,
at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born February 13, 1932, in Idaho Falls to Russell C.
"Dutch" Molen and Harriet Bowcut Molen. She grew up and attended
schools in Idaho Falls. In 1950, she graduated from Idaho Falls
High School and in 1968, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in
history and education from Idaho State University.
On May 25, 1951, she married C. Jay Hymas in Yakima, Washington.
He passed away Dec. 31, 1999. She team- taught history with
Donna A. Nelson at Central and Eagle Rock Jr. High Schools. They
were instrumental in holding the first mock elections at the
school.
She had a passion for politics and current events. She enjoyed
traveling, discussions with her grandchildren, the "lunch
bunch," and golf trips with Jay. Sharon was an intelligent and
loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane Hymas and Jill (Roger)
Wilbur, both of Idaho Falls; sister, Carolyn Molen of Idaho
Falls; granddaughters, Heidi Brickell of Idaho Falls and Kelli
Wilbur of Ramstein, Germany; grandsons, C. Jay Wilbur of
Massachusetts, Ryan Moroz of South Korea and Kirk Wilbur of
Idaho Falls; two great-grandchildren; and her dog, Floyd.
Besides her husband, Jay, she was preceded in death by her
parents.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
